The balloon takes off at sunrise from a launch field next to the archaeological zone of Teotihuacan, in the State of Mexico, about an hour from Mexico City. You float over the Avenue of the Dead, the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon as first light spills across the valley.
The minimum age to fly is 5 years old. Children aged 5 to 10 can fly at the full adult rate, since they take a complete spot in the basket; under 5 cannot fly for safety reasons. Pregnant women cannot fly, at any stage of pregnancy. Older adults can fly with no upper age limit as long as they can step into the basket on their own (~1.20 m).
